Stuttering Equivalence and Stuttering Invariance

چکیده
are not. Stuttering equivalence is a fundamental concept in the theory of concurrent and distributed systems. Notably, Lamport [1] argues that refinement notions for such systems should be insensitive to finite stuttering. Peled and Wilke [2] showed that all PLTL (propositional linear-time temporal logic) properties that are insensitive to stuttering equivalence can be expressed without the next-time operator. Stuttering equivalence is also important for certain verification techniques such as partial-order reduction for model checking. We formalize stuttering equivalence in Isabelle/HOL. Our development relies on the notion of stuttering sampling functions that may skip blocks of identical sequence elements. We also encode PLTL and prove the theorem due to Peled and Wilke [2].

Stuttering Equivalence for Parity Games
We study the process theoretic notion of stuttering equivalence in the setting of parity games. We demonstrate that stuttering equivalent vertices have the same winner in the parity game. This means that solving a parity game can be accelerated by minimising the game graph with respect to stuttering equivalence. While, at the outset, it might not be clear that this strategy should pay off, our ...
متن کاملStuttering Prevalence among Kurdish-Farsi Students Effects of the Two Languages Similarities
Objectives: It has been noted that stuttering is more prevalent in bilinguals than in monolinguals. The similarities of the languages involved have been mentioned to justify the difference between stuttering prevalence among bilingual and monolingual speakers. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of language similarities on prevalence of stuttering among Kurdish-Farsi bilingual st...
متن کاملA Cure for Stuttering Parity Games
We define governed stuttering bisimulation for parity games, weakening stuttering bisimulation by taking the ownership of vertices into account only when this might lead to observably different games. We show that governed stuttering bisimilarity is an equivalence for parity games and allows for a natural quotienting operation. Moreover, we prove that all pairs of vertices related by governed s...
متن کاملComputing Stuttering Simulations
Stuttering bisimulation is a well-known behavioural equivalence that preserves CTL-X, namely CTL without the next-time operator X. Correspondingly, the stuttering simulation preorder induces a coarser behavioural equivalence that preserves the existential fragment ECTL-{X,G}, namely ECTL without the next-time X and globally G operators. While stuttering bisimulation equivalence can be computed ...

Objective Stuttering can negatively impact the quality of life and cause psychosocial problems for individuals who stutter. The Overall Assessment of the Speaker’s Experience of Stuttering for Adults (OASES-A) is a comprehensive psychological test containing four components in which the fourth one focuses on the quality of life. The main purpose of this study is to examine the quality of ...
